SPIDERPAW
The camp was empty. It was lifeless, save for bouts of coughing that pierced the air. It felt as if she was walking through a graveyard and, of course, she didn't like that. So Spiderpaw fled the camp for the day, choosing to explore and wander as far as she could; as long as she could. Perhaps she would come home to an angry mentor, but it would be worth it. Alone, the dark apprentice roamed listlessly, wandering far and far from the RiverClan camp, until soft sounds of the river reached her hearing. She felt her innate curiosity stirring at the noise - something she had not felt in a while - and immediately, she perked up. Distraction was needed and she was hurrying toward it.
Perhaps she had to run a little, but she arrived at the riverside rather quickly. Spiderpaw carefully set her paws upon wet stones, awed by how oddly slick they felt, as she approached the water. She had seen a stream before, but never a river; it was large, far larger than her imagination had conjured but it did nothing to dissuade her curiosity. If anything, it only excited her. Approaching closer, she paused for a moment to gaze upon the rippling surface before plunging her paw into the frigid water. A shiver rolled up her spine as a realisation hit her; the river was deep. Deeper than it appeared but exactly how deep was it? Spiderpaw moved forward, into the water, and another shiver shook her form as the water reached to her elbows. A giggle burst out of her, "Ooh, how deep! No wonder cats drown here a lot."
